Short spurts of exercise can considerably benefit Type 2 diabetics, in comparison to longer periods of activity.
Frequent exercise provides great benefits in preventing type 2 diabetes and for type 2 diabetes treatment. However, many diabetics do not find the time to undertake 30 minutes of moderate exercise per day.
McMaster University researchers have suggested that more rigorous, but, shorter exercise periods can prove to be a more effective alternative.
A study of eight type 2 diabetes patients uncovered that highly intense exercise for just 30 minutes per week within a 75 minute total time commitment, reduced blood sugar concentrations, lowered increased in post-meal blood sugar levels .
Most people with and without type 2 diabetes do not accumulate enough exercise to achieve health benefits.
The most regular excuse cited not to undertake frequent exercise is insufficient time.
